Days of Play--Tie-Dye Paintings

What you'll need:

• watercolor paper
• water color paints
• water
• salt
• cookie sheet
• newspaper

What to do:

1. Line a table with newspapers.
2. Take the cookie sheet and put water in it.
3. Dip the watercolor paper into the water.
4. Lay the wet paper on the newspaper covered table.
5. Apply paint with paint brushes.
6. Watch the colors run and blur together in a tie-dye effect.
7. Add a dash of salt here and there and see how it "soaks up" the paint.
8. Let dry.
9. When the pictures are dry, use a felt tipped marker and add detail.
